Who we are

abqfuneralhomes.com ("ABQ Funeral Homes", "we") is an independent directory of New Mexico funeral homes and the prices they publish, run by Josh Eldred in Albuquerque. We are not a funeral home. This page explains what information the site collects and what happens to it.

What you send us

Questions and price requests. Our forms ask for your name, email address, and sometimes an optional phone number, your city, the service you're asking about, when you need help and a short description of your situation. The form also tells us which page you sent it from.

Price lists. If you share a funeral home's price list with us, we receive the file, the date you got it and, if you choose to give it, your email address.

Funeral homes. Providers who write to us send their business details, corrections or price lists.

Our forms are delivered to our email inbox by FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), a form-delivery service. FormSubmit's own privacy policy covers how it handles a message on the way to us.

What we do with it

We use what you send only to answer you by email. We keep a simple record of each inquiry (your name, email address, what you asked and when we replied) so no one gets missed and we can pick up the thread if you write back. We use software, including AI tools, to help read messages and write replies.

When you share a price list, we post the prices on that provider's page with the date the list took effect. We never publish your name or email address.

We don't send newsletters or marketing email. We only write to you to answer what you asked.

Who we share it with

Nobody. We don't pass your details to funeral homes, cemeteries or anyone else, and we don't sell, rent or trade them. A funeral home hears from you only if you contact it yourself; when we reply, we give you the provider's phone number so the choice stays yours.

The one exception is if the law requires us to disclose information, for example under a court order.

What's collected automatically

Hosting. The site runs on Cloudflare, which handles every visit, including your IP address, to deliver pages and block abuse. Cloudflare also tells our site the approximate city your connection comes from. For visitors in New Mexico we use that only to sort the homepage list by distance, and we don't store it.

Visit counts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies or follow you to other sites; it reports things like which pages were viewed, the site that linked to us and the type of browser.

No cookies of ours, and no ads. We don't set cookies, and we don't run ads or ad tracking. (Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it needs to check that a visitor isn't a bot.)

Saved pages. Your browser may keep copies of pages from this site (using a "service worker") so they load faster and work offline. Those copies stay on your device; clearing your browser's data for this site removes them.

Things your browser loads from other sites

Provider photos load from Google's servers (googleusercontent.com), and the maps on a few pages load map images from OpenStreetMap. Like any website you visit, those services receive your IP address. Links to funeral homes, Google Maps and Apple Maps take you to sites with their own privacy policies.

Your choices

You can ask what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send a message through our contact form (mention "privacy request"), or reply to any email we've sent you, and we'll answer by email.

Children

This site is meant for adults making funeral arrangements. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us something, tell us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
